Poll: Plasma Delivers best HDTV Picture

According to an online poll from the web site TVPredictions, 35 percent of 931 respondents said that a plasma set delivers the best HDTV picture.  Coming in at a very close second with 33 percent of the votes was LCD HDTV technology, followed by DLP rear projection technology (27 percent).

More Prices Drops Expected for Hidefster.com LCD HDTVs in 2007

iSuppli predicted yesterday that dropping prices will drive even more sales of the popular HDTV displays. For instance, a $2,000 46″ LCD HDTV could be priced as low as $1,299 by the holidays.

 
iSuppli also said that shipments of LCD sets will surpass 100 million units in 2008 and 171 million units by 2011.  “By that time, LCD-TVs will dominate the market, accounting for 65 % of all television unit shipments worldwide,” said Sweta Dash, director of LCD research at iSuppli.
